My housing cooperative hired a consultant to find the best maintenance deal for our six elevators three years ago. Besides founding us a contractor he also informed us that our elevators are reaching the end of their life span. Since the renewal project meant that I practically wouldn’t be able to leave home for six weeks I started planning a trip…
Now, three years later, I’m starting my travel blog. The elevator in my stairway will be ripped out of it’s shaft starting on Monday. My plane takes off to Tokyo on Sunday, a day after tomorrow. And it’s going to be the adventure of the lifetime: a week in Tokyo, 3½ weeks in New Zealand and a month in Australia. On the way I’m going to meet old friends living in Auckland, Wellington and Sydney, travel with my sister’s family in NZ and Melbourne and be joined by my dear friend for the last three weeks in OZ.
Welcome to TONZOZ 2019!

“To my mind, the greatest reward and luxury of travel is to be able to experience everyday things as if for the first time, to be in a position in which almost nothing is so familiar it is taken for granted.”
